The US attorney for Washington D.C., Jeanine Pirro, is facing growing pressure after Donald Trump denounced her handling of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool case.

She is currently experiencing intense pressure from the White House to prosecute the president’s political enemies. The Justice Department has summoned a special grand jury in Washington to investigate major cases.

This independent group can issue reports detailing subjects even if prosecutors lack the evidence to secure an indictment.

The significant step comes as Pirro’s position grows more hazardous under newly confirmed Attorney General Todd Blanche.

The US attorney for the District of Columbia has endured a series of landmark legal defeats failing to convict a man accused of throwing a sandwich at a federal agent, as democratic lawmakers who encouraged soldiers to defy unlawful commands, and Powell over a building renovation.

Her troubles increased last week when Trump openly signaled her job was one the line after she dropped charges against former Olympian David Hearn over the damaged Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Nonetheless, rather than establishing a reasonable doubt at trial, the 23-person body needs only a lower highly probable standard to draft a public with the report underscoring the administration as the public’s most direct replacement.
