LAHORE: Daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, expressed her happiness over PML-N's victory in Azad Kashmir elections by stating that every time 'they' conspire against Nawaz, he comes back stronger.
In a couple of tweets, Maryam expressed her happiness at PML-N's performance in the Azad Kashmir elections and labelled it as a 'landslide' victory.
"It is not merely a win. It is a landslide. The more they conspire against Nawaz Sharif, the stronger he emerges. Every time. Allah be praised," she tweeted.
The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz emerged as the most successful political party after polls were held in Azad Kashmir on Thursday. PML-N won 31 seats while PPP and Muslim Conference notched 3 seats each as PTI only managed to win 2 seats. It was the first time that PTI was contesting elections in Azad Kashmir.
Maryam also tweeted that Nawaz Sharif's political opponents tried to use slogans such as 'Modi ka yaar' and 'business with India' but they did not have any profound effect on voters as such claims and slogans were unfounded.
Earlier, PTI chairman Imran Khan had accepted the results of Azad Kashmir elections and congratulated PML-N via a tweet message.
Except for a few anomalies, by and large the Azad Kashmir elections of 2016 were held in a peaceful atmosphere.
