Yasir Shah helped the tourists beat the hosts by raking in 10 wickets in the match and a century by captain Misbah-ul-Haq also helped the team secure a 1-0 lead over England in the series.
After the match, Pakistani captain Misbah-ul-Haq dedicated the win to deceased philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi.
It was a historic win for Pakistan as they had returned to the same venue six years after the infamous spot-fixing saga had put the nation's cricket into disrepute.
