PAKISTAN: On the occasion of Hazrat Ali (R.A)'s martyrdom, processions and rallies are being taken out across the small and large cities of Pakistan as a mark of respect to the Islamic personality.
Stringent security measures have been taken in order to ensure that no security lapse takes place. In Karachi, the M.A.Jinnah Road and surrounding roads were blocked before the rally began.
The central procession in Karachi will begin from Nishtar Park and after undertaking its traditional route, conclude at the Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar. The places covered in between will be Numaish Chowrangi, Tibet Centre, M.A.Jinnah Road, Bolton Market and from then finally to Kharadar.
For the security of the processions, containers have been placed on entry points. More than 5,000 police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order. Rangers personnel will also provide security to participants of the rally.
The central procession in Lahore will commence from Mubarak Haveli and conclude at Karbala Gamay Shah at around evening. As many as five thousand police personnel will be providing security to the participants of the rally.
Strict security measures have been adopted to ensure maximum protection of the public. Walk-through gates have been placed at entry points to the processions. Participants are being checked at more than one location and CCTV cameras have also been installed to monitor the situation.
A main procession rally was also taken out in Quetta, from the Hazara Town till Ali Chowk. As many as 1500 policemen were stationed on mountains and roads to ensure safety of the participants.
