KARACHI: Security arrangements for the Yaum-e-Ali (R.A) procession which will be taken out on Monday in the metropolis have been completed.
According to details, containers have been placed alongside roads in Karachi which will be the crossings for 21 processions that will be taken out of Nishtar Park in Karachi. These containers will be placed on the crossings of the procession routes tonight and other roads will be blocked for traffic.
On the occasion of Yaum--eAli (R.A), the main procession will be taken out from Nishtar Park and after passing through its routes, will conclude at Kharadar's Hussainia Iranian Imambargah. Pillion riding has been banned in the city due to section 144.
AIG Mushtaq Mehr disclosed that five thousand police personnel will be offering their services to ensure protection of citizens. He also said that other than that, Rangers will also be assisting the policemen in conducting their duties.
He also said that Imambargahs, entry points of rallies and crossings will be swept by the Bomb Disposal unit. According to Mehr, persons included in the fourth schedule will be monitored thoroughly.
He also said that all district control rooms will be monitored from the office of the Additional Inspector-General's office.
