Young Thug reacts to 'Not Like Us' name-drop after prison release
Young Thug picks sides in the Drake Vs. Kendrick feud after being name-dropped in 'Not Like Us'
Young Thug is finally weighing in on Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us after being name-dropped in the viral diss track.
In a new interview with GQ on Friday, April 25, the rapper made it clear where his loyalty lies, saying simply, “I’m a Drake fan.”
While Young Thug spent last year behind bars, his girlfriend Mariah the Scientist kept him updated on the heated Drake vs. Kendrick battle that took over hip-hop.
Reflecting on Kendrick’s mention of him and others from Atlanta, Thug said, “Yeah, [Kendrick] just spoke on people’s name in Atlanta. I don’t know what that was about.”
Kendrick had fired shots at Drake’s Atlanta ties in Not Like Us, rapping: “21 gave you false street cred/ Thug made you feel like you a slime in your head/ Quavo said you can be from Northside.”
Mariah previously told Billboard she often played the diss tracks for Thug over the phone. “He’s a lover of music in general. He f**ks with everybody,” she said.
Now free, Thugger is getting back to business, dropping a new single with Future and gearing up to release his UY SCUTI album in May.
