Queen Camilla, who has returned to the UK with King Charles after concluding their Italy trip, has made a sad admission moments before departing from the country on Thursday.
The 76-year-old admitted she and King Charles are 'sad to be going home' as they wrapped their 'wonderful' Italy Trip on April 10.
The royal couple spent four days abroad, and their trip included seeing the Colosseum, a speech at Italy's Parliament, meeting Pope Francis and a glamorous state banquet.
The royal family's official Instagram account shared the photos and videos of the the King and Queen's visit with a statement.
The Palace released a statement on the final day of the royal couple's visit, saying: "Today, Their Majesties are in Ravenna! The King and Queen began the day celebrating Italy’s most famous poet, Dante Alighieri, by visiting his tomb and joining locals for a reading from the ‘Divine Comedy’."
The statement continued: "Every evening at sunset, volunteers gather on the steps of Dante’s Tomb to recite a canto from his epic poem as part of a project called the ‘Perpetual Reading of the Divine Comedy’.
This special tradition, launched by the Mayor of Ravenna in 2021 to mark the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, continues to bring his work to life.
The Queen told People: "We're having a wonderful visit. We're very sad to be going home."
When asked if they were having a good visit, King Charles adds, "Yes, thank you, very much."
