Olivia Munn, American actress who is known for her roles in X-Men: Apocalypse and The Newsroom, recently shared her deeply personal experience, revealing that going through postpartum depression was more difficult for her than battling cancer.
The 44-year-old actress shared how her anxiety hit peak when she couldn’t make breast milk her kid, even after trying with three lactation coaches.
And on top of that, nothing seemed to fit as she struggled to lose the baby weight. It was a challenging time that left her feeling really stressed.
Olivia told SELF Magazine: "When you stop breastfeeding immediately, your hormones drop, and postpartum can come in like a tornado."
"And I didn't clock any of that and I didn't tell anybody about that. Then it was like I fell off a cliff, and I was just falling and falling and falling and falling. It was more difficult than going through cancer," she added.
The Getaway star described those overwhelming feeling as being like a sprained knee, as her husband John Mulaney, helped the actress move from room to room.
The actress went on explaining, "My eyes pop open at 4am I'm gasping for air. I get the tightness in my chest, and it's like that all day long."
"It felt like the end of the world. It was like when you watch a horror movie — the worst, scariest horror movie you can think of — that's how my body felt."
For the unversed, Olivia Munn welcomed her first baby back on November 24, 2021.
