Val Kilmer, popularly known for his role in Top Gun and Batman Forever, was suffering from medical issues before he breathed his last Tuesday, March 1, at the age of 65.
Mercedes Kilmer announced her father's passing in Los Angeles estate, reported by New York Times.
Sources shared with TMZ Wednesday that Kilmer was bed-bound for years before his death from pneumonia.
The insider revealed that The Prince of Egypt alum 'suffered from lack of energy' as a result of cancer treatment that he had gone through in the past.
The tipster further mentioned that Val had become really 'frail'.
His health had declined over the week and was hospitalized where his friends and family met him in the final days leading to his death.
Known to everyone, the legendary actor had been suffering from throat cancer since 2015.
The Willow actor though was declared cancer-free in 2021, had lost his ability to speak as a result of two tracheotomies during chemo and radiation therapy.
Val's daughter and son Mercedes, 33, and son, Jack, 29, will reportedly be taking care of their father's funeral.
