‘Breaking Amish’ star Mama Mary Schmucker breathes her last at 65
Mama Mary Schmucker starred in 'Breaking Amish' alongside her husband and kids
"Mama" Mary Schmucker, known for starring in the Breaking Amish and Return to Amish, has passed away at the age of 65.
Her son Andrew confirmed to TMZ that the TLC star breathed her last on Friday, March 28, at her home in Pennsylvania, following cancer complications.
Mary, who was briefly hospitalised earlier in the week she died, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2022. She underwent surgery before being sent to hospice care in November 2022.
Her daughter-in-law Rebecca pleaded to pray for the reality TV series star’s well-being, saying, "I’m making a prayer request for mom."
"She’s not feeling good the last few weeks and can’t keep anything down, and she’s having trouble eating. She is on hospice now," Rebecca, who is married to Mary’s son Abe, updated in November.
"Her pain has been so bad and they are helping with that. If you could, flood her with positive messages and pray for her to be comfortable and pain free. Thank you !" she added in the Instagram post.
Notably, it has been reported that recently, Mary's cancer metastasized — cancer spread from the place where it first formed to another part of the body — all over her body.
Mary is survived by her husband Chester, and five children, including Abe, Katie Ann, and Andy, who also appeared on the show.
