Pedro Pascal reveals why 'The Last of Us’ is 'rare' experience for him
Pedro Pascal recalls sweet moment of meeting co-creators and co-writers for the first time on set
Pedro Pascal looked back fondly on his first day on set of the hit series, The Last Of Us, and how the experience will never replicate itself.
The show, which became a turning point for the actor, is co-created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Meanwhile, Pascal stars alongside Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Kaitlyn Dever, Young Mazino and Isabela Merced.
During the virtual critics press conference for the post-apocalyptic drama’s second season, The Gladiator II actor reflected on his experience.
"This job definitely created a new chapter in my life in a profound way," he said. "I think because of the personal experience I had making the show."
He explained that "how deeply important [the show] means to all of us is a rare thing" and it "will never happen again."
Pascal also noted that the "way [he] remember[s] meeting Craig and Neil for the first time, the way [he] remember[s] getting the job, the way I remember getting to Alberta, [Gabriel’s] FaceTime, [Bella and I] on set for the first time," was all a special experience.
As for meeting, Dever, he said, "It was like, I admired, have admired your work for so many years and was just like, I couldn't believe I got to be in scenes with you."
The show earned 24 nominations at 2023 Emmys and won eight awards, includin outstanding guest actress (Storm Reid), guest actor (Nick Offerman).
Based on 2013 video game of the same name, The Last of Us season two is slated to release on April 13th.
