Emraan Hashmi surprised fans on his 46th birthday by announcing the sequel to his 2007 film, titled Awarapan 2.
The Indian actor, who has garnered recognition for his role in the romantic/drama film, is set to reprise his iconic character in the much-awaited sequel.
Taking to social media, the 46-year-old actor, along with the makers of Awarapan 2, posted a clip showing Emraan viewing the sunset.
In addition, the video featured him setting a bird free, accompanied by a heartwarming dialogue, “To die for someone else’s life is my destiny.”
Taking fans on a nostalgic trip, the clip played the iconic song from the film, Tera Mera Rishta in the background.
The video ended with an exciting caption, which reads, “Awarapan 2, The journey continues."
Expressing excitement, the Azhar actor captioned the post, “Just keep me alive a little longer...#Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026. #Awarapan2.”
The much-anticipated announcement took the internet by storm and fans flooded the comments section.
One fan commented, “Brother has given me a big gift, the most awaited Awarapan watching theatre.”
Another remarked, "Emraan Hashmi bhai goosebumps again.”
A third gushed, “best birthday surprise."
This comes on the heels of the Jannat actor sharing an animated teaser clip, prompting speculation.
Awarapan 2, starring Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran, is set to release in April 2026.
