Kanye West has Mathew Knowles kind of angry.
The music executive, 73, weighed in on the rapper’s now-deleted post about Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 7-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, telling TMZ on Friday that West might face consequences for his remarks.
“People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry,” Knowles said.
While acknowledging that West’s recent online behavior could be linked to his mental health struggles, Knowles added that he’s “hopeful” the Heartless rapper gets the help he needs.
His comments come shortly after his ex-wife, Tina Knowles, subtly addressed West’s remarks, referring to them as “evil.”
On Tuesday, West, 47, posted a now-deleted message about the intelligence of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s twins. Later, he admitted he didn’t remove the post out of remorse but rather to prevent his account from being suspended.
The following day, West expressed that he felt “bad” about his words—before launching another attack, this time accusing Beyoncé and Jay-Z of standing by while the Kardashian family “ran him over” during his marriage to Kim Kardashian.
Interestingly, West made no mention of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter, 13-year-old Blue Ivy.
So far, the powerhouse couple has yet to respond publicly, but a source told Page Six that they’re considering their next steps, including possible legal action.
“Jay-Z and Beyoncé are aware of the posts Kanye has since deleted and are discussing how they want to handle this situation, whether that be privately and/or in a legal matter,” the source shared.
Meanwhile, Kardashian is reportedly unimpressed with her ex-husband’s latest drama.
“Kim has had enough and she’s done trying to be reasonable with Kanye when it comes to communication,” another insider said, adding, “No matter what feud Kanye has going on with Jay and Beyoncé, kids are off-limits.”
With tensions rising, it remains to be seen if West will face any repercussions for his words—or if this will blow over like many of his past controversies.
