Hilaria Baldwin, Alec Baldwin’s wife who has been through a lot after her husband’s shooting incident that left the whole family traumatised, is standing her ground after facing backlash for allowing her 11-year-old daughter, Carmen to release a skincare book.
Ahead of the book’s release, some critics believe a child that young shouldn’t be giving beauty advice, but Baldwin isn’t staying silent.
Hilaria and her daughter Carmen sat down together for an interview on Today, where they opened up about the inspiration behind Carmen’s new book, Glowing Up: Recipes to Rock Your Natural Beauty.
The mother of 7 shared: "We're being aware of what are they putting on their skin', as Carmen shared: 'It was really, really fun and we got to spend a lot of time together."
She then recalled a funny moment from their skincare experiments, revealing that they tried a turmeric face mask on Alec, but noticed: "The gross thing is that my dad doesn't shower often so I was giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek and he still had a little orange under this chin!"
When asked how she lets her daughter explore while still keeping her childhood safe, Hilaria said.
However, Hilaria went on saying: "Our kids are going to grow up - the more we can allow them to want to include us in their interests..."
"They're going to do it anyway and we all know that because we all did that!'"
For the unversed, Carmen is the firstborn of Hilaria and Alec Baldwin’s seven children.
