Queen Mary of Denmark opened up about parenthood in a rare speech as she attended Realdanias' 'Our Quality of Life' conference in Copenhagen on Thursday.
The Danish royal surprised guests by delivering a an emotional speech on the challenges of parenthood.
The Queen shared honest reflections on raising four children and the journey that comes with it.
Citing research, she revealed, ' Studies show that in life drops quite significantly and only levels out when the children move away from home.'
She further added: 'Having children is a good example of how meaning in life does not always coincide with the greatest possible joy in life.'
For the unversed, Queen Mary shares four children-Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine-with King Frederik, took the days just days after resuming duties after a brief illness.
