Tom Cruise Top Gun: Maverick costar shares interesting chats with cast
'Top Gun: Maverick' atar Jay Ellis spills the beans on friendship with co-stars
Top Gun: Maverick star Jay Ellis offered interesting insights from his costars’ group chat.
The actor who played LT Ruben "Payback" Fitch in the Oscar-winning movie shared that the actors' friendship is still going strong despite nearly three years since Top Gun: Maverick release.
On Thursday, March 20, in the episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the 43-year-old revealed that his castmates are constantly in touch. He also shares some recent chatting topics as well.
"We're all on text chains together. We're constantly like... Perfect example is Miles had The Gorge come out. Glen is away working on a movie. Monica is nominated for an Oscar. Danny Ramirez just had Captain America come out," he spilled, adding, "And we're all texting nonstop."
The castmates not only exchanged messages with each other but also often met up and went out for dinner to stay in touch.
In addition to the Running Point actor, the sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 classic starred Cruise himself, Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Danny Ramirez and Monica Barbaro.
Additionally, Ellis emphasised the importance of maintaining friendships with co-stars. Leading by example, he said he is still close with his castmates from Insecure (2016-2021).
