Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has addressed the possibility of a sequel to his hit film Jab We Met after its stars, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, shared a warm moment at the IIFA 2025, sparking rumours of a reunion.
Ali expressed his thoughts on the encounter, saying, "Actually, I find it very interesting that Shahid and Kareena met up in IIFA and people are talking to me about Jab We Met."
He continued, "Shahid has said that he thinks that I have moved on, but I think that everybody has moved on. It's been a long time since Jab We Met."
Ali emphasized that he's not planning a movie with Shahid and Kareena, stating, "I'm not really planning a movie with Shahid and Kareena per se, but it's great that they met and they're both very fantastic actors."
He concluded, "I think we should savour that, and we should not spoil it by coming up with a sequel at all."
Jab We Met, released in 2007, is a cult rom-com classic starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan as Geet and Aditya. The film was a critical and commercial success, but the couple parted ways soon after its release.
