Animal’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is opening up about casting Ranbir Kapoor in the highly-acclaimed film.
During an exclusive interview with Game Changers, the filmmaker explained why he chose the Rockstar actor for the challenging role.
Referring to Ranbir’s aggression and arrogance in his previous films, the Kabir Singh director told the outlet, “When I see his previous work, his aggression, arrogance, those features are very clearly defined while he was acting. I liked his performance right from his first film.”
In addition, SRV readily admitted that Ranbir was his first choice for the film.
He discussed how the versatile actor was involved in the film from early stages of development as Sandeep further went to admit, “He was my first choice. Yeah, I told him at the idea level, he loved it. So, when I started writing the screenplay, it took a year. Then, automatically, he was there in every scene.”
The Barfi actor transformed himself for the role, delivering a performance with absolute intensity and raw emotion.
On professional front, Ranbir is currently gearing up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War alongside his wife Alia Bhatt.
