Prince William and Kate Middleton's office has finally shut down rumours about the future Queen amid her health crisis.
Kensington Palace has issued an urgent clarification defending the Princess of Wales in surprising move.
Earlier this month, sources from the royal family's circle told the Times newspaper that the Palace would no longer be issuing details about Princess Catherine's clothing.
A Palace spokesperson has now claimed: "The comments that were reported should not be directly attributed to The Princess of Wales."
The statement continued: "To be clear, there has been no change in our approach to sharing information about Her Royal Highness’s clothing."
It comes a week after Prince William's wife Kate, who returned to the royal duties after winning her year-long battle against cancer, cut a stylish figure as she joined a group of schoolchildren on a trip to the National Portrait Gallery.
The Princess of Wales beamed as she stepped off a minibus with the excited youngsters, holding hands with one little girl as they made their way inside.
Princess Kate stunned onlookers as she looked typically chic for the engagement in black pinstripe trousers and a roll neck, teamed with a fitted black blazer.
