Sarah Ferguson’s heartfelt message to Princess Beatrice on the arrival of baby girl has touched royal fans, as she expresses overwhelming joy and pride in becoming a grandmother once again.
Fergie and Prince Andrew's eldest daughter Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are celebrating the arrival of their second child, a baby girl named Athena Elizabeth Rose.
The 36-year-old royal welcomed her daughter last week, and the news was officially announced by Buckingham Palace today.
Sarah Ferguson, Beatrice’s mother, expressed her happiness in a heartfelt statement, saying, “My heart is overflowing with love and joy as we welcome Athena Elizabeth Rose into the world. I’m so proud of Edo, Beatrice, and my little 5-a-side team!”
The affectionate reference to a "5-a-side" team reflects her four biological grandchildren, along with Beatrice’s stepson, Wolfie.
Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 41, also took to social media to share his excitement, writing, “Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi. We welcomed Baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect.”
Beatrice and Edoardo are now proud parents to two daughters, Athena and Sienna, while Edoardo also shares his eldest son, Wolfie, with his former partner, Dara Huang.
The family's joyful news comes after Beatrice had been advised by doctors to take precautions, as they anticipated a premature birth.
