Cynthia Erivo, the British actress and singer, recently shared surprising fan encounters after Wicked success.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host asked if fans approach her and sing the show-stopping vocal riff of Defying Gravity, which Erivo dubbed "the war cry."
"Yes, randomly, when I don’t ask for it," she said with a smile, adding that some people don’t even introduce themselves before their performance. "They sometimes just go straight into it."
When asked about how she reacts, the Harriet actress admitted, "I’m still trying to figure out how to."
However, the Pinocchio star called it "wonderful" to see people "willing" to give it a try.
"I think if the emotion has moved you to do that without even introducing yourself, then I think we’ve done something right. And I’m just going to go with it," Erivo said.
The Tony Award winner also revealed that she and the cast initially had no idea about the second instalment and learned about the decision much later.
"We didn’t remove anything, there are no songs that have been cut from it, so you get two movies," she assured.
The Wicked movie has received 10 Oscar nominations with Best Actress in Leading Role for Cynthia Erivo and Best Actress in Supporting Role for Ariana Grande.
The Wicked: For Good is slated for release on November 21, 2025.
