Jack Quaid shared that during his new movie Companion, there was one stunt he couldn’t handle, leaving it to his double after an on-set "freak out."
Speaking with Metro through a Zoom call, the 32-year-old star admitted that despite his role in the intense Amazon series, he’s not immune to gore, recalling a stunt that left him deeply unsettled.
"It hasn’t desensitised me to that, because The Boys is hyper-violent in a way that's almost unrealistic," he stated.
He further explained that the scene in question, which caused his momentary panic, was relatively minor, saying, "There’s a moment in the trailer where my hand gets caught as a car door closes on it."
Reflecting on the experience, The Boys actor opened up about how unsettling the moment was for him, "I remember on the day that freaked me out more than anything else," he said with a visible shudder.
He clarified that a stopper was in place to prevent the door from closing fully, yet the possibility of things going wrong was enough to scare him off from performing the stunt himself.
Jack revealed that he was willing to perform any other stunt but he couldn’t bring himself to complete the current one because he was freaking out.
The actor drew a comparison between the stunt and a Breaking Bad scene, where a character dies from slipping on a rug, calling it one of TV’s most chilling deaths.
"That stuff really gets me, because it’s more real world and it feels like it could actually happen," he expressed.
