Neil Young, the Canadian-American singer-songwriter, has shared his thoughts on Bob Dylan’s biopic, A Complete Unknown.
The Heart Of Gold singer, who was musical contemporary of Dylan and performed alongside him in Martin Scorsese’s seminal 1978 concert film The Last Waltz, shared his views on the film on his personal website, the Neil Young Archives.
“I love Bob Dylan and his music. Always have. He's a great artist," Young wrote. "Once he was on my bus and I didn't recognize him and I threw him off but that's another story.”
Despite his seemingly negative encounter, Young went on to praise the biopic, which features Timothée Chalamet as the Nobel Prize-winning musician.
“This movie is a great tribute to his life and music. I think if you love Bob's music you should see this great movie. I loved it,” he said.
The film, directed by James Mangold, begans in 1961 with Dylan arriving in New York City to pursue a career as a folk singer. It explores how Dylan eventually chose electric rock music over folk music.
The movie, A Complete Unknown was released on December 25th, 2024.
