Brooke Shields recently revealed the stunt she pulled to made Matthew Perry laugh on set of Friends.
In an interview with The View on January 13th, the American actress and model reflected on the time when she successfully got her way into the inner circle of the hit CBS sitcom.
"You go onto a show that’s so well-oiled and so successful and I was such a fan: all I wanted was for them to like me," she admitted. "I just wanted to be funny, but I wasn’t in the group, you know? They were very tight. They had all these inside jokes."
The Mother of the Bride actress noticed that Perry often performed a stunt where he would run and throw himself in front of a girl, pretending to look up her skirt. In attempt to win over her co-stars, the Blue Lagoon star decided to mimic the stunt.
"I ran so fast from one end of the stage all the way to the other, threw myself on the ground, and pretended to look up his pant leg," she said. “And everybody was quiet and I’m on the floor and I’m like, ‘I just s**k! This is so… I look like a crazy person!’"
The 59-year-old artist said that she felt like staying on the floor for an hour until Perry and rest of cast burst out laughing.
Perry asked her how she knew the move, to which she replied, "I’ve just been watching you and I just wanted to say thank you for giving us such humour."
Shields' character, Erika, was a mentally ill woman who, in season 2’s two-part episode The One After the Superbowl, begins dating Joey while mistakenly believing he is actually his Days of Our Lives character, Dr. Drake Ramoray.
