Justin Baldoni, Britney Spears resurfaced clip raises questions
Justin Baldoni and Britney Spears shared awkward moment on set
Justin Baldoni and Britney Spears’ first meeting did not go according to plan, as he revealed in a resurfaced clip.
The 40-year-old star appeared to be discussing the awkward experience in an 2017 interview, where he recalled the moment when Spears was a guest star in Jane the Virgin.
“I know she was a fan of the show. We were shooting and then a few of us that weren’t in scenes with her came to watch one of her scenes. Because I had tweeted her and she had tweeted me back, I’d gone up to her [too], so in my mind we were friends, but we weren’t. I went up and I gave her a big hug and I think I scared her,” he told Fuse in a clip that is making rounds all over social media.
Following the uncomfortable interaction, the It Ends With Us star saw his co-stars laughing, which made him wonder, “Did I just harass Britney Spears?”
He went on to say, “I was a huge Britney Spears fan in high school…The guest star I was most excited to work with was Britney Spears. And then it turned out, I didn’t get to work with her. And there was zero scenes with Rafael and Britney Spears — probably at her request.”
The viral moment circulated on social media after Blake Lively filed a complaint of sexual assault, and launching a smear campaign, against her It Ends With Us co-star.
Baldoni responded days later with his own lawsuit, in which he sued The New York Times for $250 million after its reporting on Lively’s legal action.
