Influencer David Dobrik has finally made a comeback to YouTube after two years with amazing body transformation.
The social media personality posted his first video on January 7, 2025 by offering a glimpse into his fitness journey, which he called “a year in the making” in the clip.
In the video, David, who has over 17 million subscribers on YouTube, revealed that the transformation was actually part of a bet made with fellow YouTuber MrBeast.
The content creator started his body fat from nearly 28% and over the year, CEO of Xeela Fitness Ilya Fedorovich motivated David to run laps, play tennis, box, lift weights and wrestle as they travelled worldwide to exercise in places like Italy, Peru and Slovakia.
In the video, David showed that his unhealthy food choices and alcohol consumption caused him to stop seeing results for two months.
“An unfortunate moment happened to me during this transformation in which I had to accept defeat and realise that maybe my methods weren’t the best way to go about things,” admitted the 28-year-old.
David’s trainer reportedly created a 75-day challenge to help David back on track.
At the end of his journey, David’s body fat percentage dropped to 13.1 percent and he gained 10.5 pounds of muscle.
In the almost 15-minute video, he surprised his fans and followers with his new look. It also captured his friends’ reaction to his ripped physique.
Before taking a hiatus, David was reportedly sued for $10M by former collaborator, Jeff Wittek, who was reportedly hurt in a stunt gone wrong in 2021.
PEOPLE reported that Jeff suffered serious injuries including a broken skull, facial fractures and eye damage after being swung on a rope tied to an excavator while filming a video.
After this incident, YouTube suspended monetization for three of David’s channels after a woman claimed an associate of his raped her, according to BBC reports.
David did apologise for what took place on set with the former collaborator.
In the clip, David said, “I was completely disconnected from the fact that when people were invited to film videos with us, especially videos that relied on shock for views or whatever it was, that I was creating an unfair power dynamic.”
Meanwhile, David regularly shared content on YouTube before his break. His content revolved around travel, performing stunts and his friends.
