Meghan Markle kicked off the New Year with a massive surprise for her fans by marking her long-awaited return to social media.
In what appears to be an attempt to mark her independent milestones from her husband Prince Harry, Meghan made her social media debut on Wednesday.
The Duchess of Sussex, who had hinted at her return back in 2023, started off with a pointed message to the royal family, especially to King Charles about her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The cancer-stricken monarch is reportedly eager to meet his grandchildren despite the royal rift, but Meghan is not keen on bringing them to the UK. According to a royal expert, the former Suits actress “always [has] a hidden message”.
“I think she realises that she wants to start 2025 on a very positive and sort of strong note,” royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun.
“You know, ‘look at me, I’m here. Watch out for me and what I’m doing,’” she continued. “It’s nothing to do with her and the children or her and Harry – it’s just her.”
Seward also stated that since Meghan will be taking over the spotlight, she will not bring her children into the mix.
“I think it’s all about Meghan – ‘I’ve done my mothering bit. You’re not going to see my kids, you know,” she said. “She’s been very, very careful to keep them out of camera range, and it's her.”
As for her professional pursuits, Seward suggested that since Meghan did not have good press in year 2024, she is opting for a change in strategy as she makes a “new beginning” for herself.
