Blake Lively accused of banning Justin Baldoni from ‘It Ends With Us’ premiere
Justin Baldoni accuses Blake Lively of being responsible for actor's absence from ‘It Ends With Us’ premiere
Blake Lively is facing some new allegations from Justin Baldoni regarding It Ends With Us.
Baldoni, who directed and starred in the film, alleges in court documents obtained by Us Weekly that Lively made concerted efforts to strip him of creative authority and exclude him from key events.
“Lively systematically sidelined [him] from the marketing of his own film,” the lawsuit states.
Furthermore, Baldoni claims Lively initially refused to allow him to attend the film’s premiere, only relenting after “significant pressure.” However, he alleges the conditions imposed were “humiliating.”
“The Wayfarer team and their families, including Baldoni and [producer Jamey] Heath, were segregated from the main cast, barred from the exclusive after-party, and forced to organize their own event at additional cost,” the lawsuit continues.
The legal filing also details an alleged incident during the premiere where Baldoni and his guests were treated unfairly.
According to the suit, “Baldoni’s participation on the red carpet was cut short, and his family and friends were confined to a makeshift holding area in the basement before being escorted into a separate theater after Lively’s departure.”
Baldoni accuses Lively, 37, of not only undermining his involvement but also robbing him and his team of a chance to celebrate their contributions.
“Not only had Lively stolen the film, but she also robbed Baldoni and his team of any genuine opportunity to celebrate their hard work,” the suit alleges.
The lawsuit further implicates Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48, accusing the couple of employing “bullying tactics” to damage Baldoni’s career.
It claims Reynolds attempted to persuade Baldoni’s agent to drop him as a client, intensifying fears that the couple aimed to harm his personal and professional reputation.
“Baldoni and [Wayfarer Studios] grew increasingly fearful of what Lively and Reynolds were capable of, as their actions seemed aimed at destroying Baldoni’s career and personal life,” the legal documents state.
