Colin Jost and Michael Che slammed for going above and beyond with their biting humour, pushing boundaries during the Saturday Night Live’s final Weekend Update of 2024.
The show delivered a shocking, cringe-worthy segment that left audiences and the host stunned.
While Jost has previously been subjected to crude jokes about his wife, Scarlett Johansson, the stakes were raised with a live camera capturing her real-time reactions to the savage jabs.
During a recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, Meyers and Andy Samberg discussed the segment, with Samberg admitting that Jost “really got the worst side of it this year.”
Meyers added that watching it felt like “falling off a building,” and he wasn’t alone in his discomfort.
When Meyers texted the duo after the segment, both hosts replied in a way that suggested the emotional toll was real. "Jost said, ‘My heart is still pounding,’" Meyers recalled, adding that this was a full day and a half after the segment aired.
Colin Jost and Michael Che's joke swap has become a holiday staple on SNL, but with this year’s heightened tension and brutal gags, it seems like the audience might get more than they bargained for.
