Joe Wicks has been sidelined by a stomach-churning accident, forcing him to cancel his plans and spend some quality time on crutches.

The 39-year-old personal trainer was out for a pre-dawn run, clearly inspired and ready to conquer the year’s final miles.

But as fate would have it, a rogue corner and a rolled ankle turned his morning jog into a painful mishap.

Taking to Instagram, Wicks shared the grim details: "Happy New Year! Had a shocker this morning. Thought I'd end the year with a run, but rolled my ankle, put all my weight on it—so painful!"

Despite hopping back home on one foot, he made a trip to the hospital, fearing the worst. Fortunately, the X-ray revealed the ankle wasn’t broken—just a bit of ligament damage.

Wicks is now taking it easy with codeine and ice, but this setback certainly has him taking a break from his usual fitness grind.

After his painful run-in with the pavement, the fitness star shared the bad news with fans: his planned 5km walk around Virginia Lake would have to be postponed.

"So sorry I can’t make it," he wrote, explaining that his injury had put a halt on his fitness plans.

"I was really looking forward to it." Wicks promised to reschedule the walk and urged fans to spread the word, just in case anyone had missed the update.

But that wasn’t the only thing causing a stir. Earlier, Wicks found himself in hot water after some comments about ADHD and diet.

In an appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live's Headliners podcast, Wicks suggested that ultraprocessed food might play a role in triggering ADHD.

He also opened up about his own childhood, blaming his hyperactive behavior on a love of junk food like Wagon Wheels and jam sandwiches.
