Kerry Washington joins 'Six Triple Eight' cast to deliver strong message

Kerry Washington, who has been an influential advocate for women's rights and social justice issues, joined the cast members of Six Triple Eight, including Ebony Obsidian and Oprah Winfrey, to share a powerful message.

As an accomplished actress and producer, the 47-year-old has consistently used her platform to raise awareness about gender equality, representation, and various social issues.

Taking to Instagram, the StrongBlackLead posted a video, showcasing the cast (Kerry Washington, Ebony Obsidian, Sarah Jeffery, Moriah Brown, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson and Oprah Winfrey) embracing womanhood.

"The cast of the Six Triple Eight are here to deliver a special message to you," the channel captioned the video.

The video opens up with Kerry Washington paying tribute to women and inspiring them, saying: "Hey queen, girl, you have done it again, constantly raising the bar for all of us and doing it with such grace and power."

The other cast members went on asserting that women embrace each moment and define success on their own terms, and it’s truly inspiring. 

Their powerful voice lifts others with purpose, even if they don’t hear it every day. 

"Keep trusting your instincts and listening to your inner guidance, while giving yourself grace. I believe in you, and always remember, you are 100% that queen."

For the unknown, the film Six Triple Eight is a historical drama based on the true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-Black, all-female unit of the U.S. Army to serve overseas during World War II.
