Dick Capri breathed his last at the age of 93 after spending his last Christmas with family.
Deadline reported on Thursday, December 26 that the Broadway star passed away due to a bleeding enlarged aorta while sleeping in the early hours of Thursday, December 26, in Florida.
Shortly after the death of legendary comedian and actor, his son Jeff honoured his father during an interview with TMZ, saying, "The world is not as funny today as it was yesterday."
He explained that his father sensed that he had very limited time to spend with his family as the aorta was deemed inoperable due to his age.
Before he succumbed to a bleeding aorta, Capri got to spend his last Christmas with his life partner, son, and daughter-in-law.
He reportedly FaceTimed his loved ones who were out of town during the festive season and enjoyed a meal from his favourite restaurant.
After Capri began performing standup comedy, he appeared on The Merv Griffin Show, The Ed Sullivan Show, The NY Friars Club Roast of Drew Carey, and They Still Call Me Bruce.
In addition to working with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Liza Minelli and Tom Jones, Capri performed comedy for Presidents Gerald Ford and George Bush before making his Broadway debut in Catskills on Broadway at Lunt-Fontanne Theater in 1991.
