Justin Baldoni’s publicist quits amid Blake Lively harassment lawsuit
Justin Baldoni’s publicist reportedly quit PR agency after Blake Lively lawsuit
Justin Baldoni’s publicist Jennifer Abel reportedly quit working with her past PR firm because of “bullying” as Blake Lively feud caught fire over the summer.
As a source close to the publicist actor told The Wrap, there was “bullying” going on at Stephanie Jones’ PR firm Jonesworks, where Abel was a partner and represented the Jane the Virgin actor previously.
Over the course of this summer, Abel departed Baldoni's ex-publicist firm, Jonesworks, and founded her own firm, RWA Communications.
However, the timeline of Abel’s quitting remains unclear as the outlet reported that she resigned on July 10th and left the firm on August 23rd, whereas a previous Variety report claimed that she was terminated on August 21st.
The timeline is very close to the release of It Ends With Us, and Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios shortly joined Abel at her new firm, leaving Jonesworks behind.
This comes one day after Baldoni’s ex-publicist filed a lawsuit against Abel, after Baldoni’s co-star, Lively, filed a lawsuit against him for alleged sexual harassment at the set of the movie and running a smear campaign against the actress.
Jones named Abel, Baldoni, his production company Wayfarer Studios and his crisis manager Melissa Nathan, all as the defendants in the legal document alleging defamation and breach of contract.
