Jenny Han drops major update on 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' season three episodes

The Summer I Turned Pretty author, Jenny Han, recently dropped a major hint about one of the episodes from the new season.

Initially slated for release in 2023, the season was delayed due to the actors' strike. To make up for the time lost, the third season will feature 11 episodes including a special Christmas episode.

Han teased fans with a short clip on Instagram featuring the beach house decked up for Christmas.

The post was captioned, “Can’t wait to spend Christmas in Cousins with you guys this summer [Christmas tree emoji].”

The show is an adaptation of the book series of the same title, with Han serving as both the author and the showrunner.

The story of the novel revolves around Belly’s (Lola Tung) struggles to deal with the complicated relationship with Fisher brothers, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).

The plot for the new season is likely to set two years after the events of Season two. The focus will be on Belly and Jeremiah's relationship but will also look into Belly's lingering feelings for Conrad.

According to Times Now, the author has changed the storyline for her series so fans could be in for a big surprise when the new season lands next year.

“My priority has always been that I want fans of the book to feel really satisfied by the story we’re telling,” the writer shared in an interview with Variety, adding, “But also, for them to know that this is an adaptation in a new medium, so it’s not going to be exactly the same.”

The Summer I Turned Pretty season three is slated to release in summer of 2025, on Amazon Prime Video.
