Laapataa Ladies producers react to film's Oscars 2025 snub as they failed to make it to the shortlist.
Aamir Khan Productions expressed disappointment over their failure to secure an Oscar 2025 nomination as Best International Feature on Tuesday, December 17. However, the team remains optimistic, viewing this setback as a step forward.
Reflecting on the setback, the production house issued a statement shortly after Laapataa Ladies failed to make it to the Oscars 2025.
They wrote with a heavy heart, “Laapataa Ladies (Lost Ladies) did not make it to the Academy Awards shortlist this year, and we are of course disappointed."
The team extended their heartfelt greetings to the films that made the cut despite their loss. In addition, they shared a token of gratitude for the Academy members and the FFI jury for considering the film in the first place.
They further went on to add, "For us, this is not the end but a step forward. We remain committed to bringing more powerful stories to life and sharing them with the world."
The coming of age drama revolved around two young brides in rural India, bringing about a revolution in their respective lives.
