Jim Carrey has recently shared major lesson he learned after taking a hiatus from Hollywood.
Speaking to E! News at the Sonic Hedgehog 3 premiere in Los Angeles on December 16, the Mask star said, “I think whenever you step away from something—even if it's something you love—you get a new appreciation for it.”
“A different angle on the whole thing,” he mentioned.
The Bruce Almighty actor opened up that he “enjoyed the time away” from the spotlight.
“I also value getting out of people's faces,” stated the 62-year-old.
Jim noted, “There are some people who just want to be in people's faces all the time, and I don't, so I like to give them a rest.”
However, the Truman Show star expressed his gratitude to his fans who didn’t leave by his side despite his exit from the industry.
“I appreciate it. I'm gratified by it,” he remarked.
Earlier in an interview with the Associated Press, Jim explained why he came out of retirement.
The Yes Man actor stated, “I bought a lot of stuff and I need the money, frankly.”
Meanwhile, Jim spoke to Access Hollywood at the premiere and revealed what “brings” him the most joy in the world.
To which, the Dark Crimes actor replied, “Beingness… being here, there and everywhere.”
“That’s how I live especially when I am not caught up with the movie in my head projecting fear and doubt on the future,” continued Jim.
The Liar Liar actor added, “I love to get to a place where I feel like I am all that is, was, ever will be.”
