Prince Harry, Meghan to receive special Christmas call from senior royal

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be getting a special gesture during Christmas as frosty ties begin to thaw a little with the royals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who shared their delightful Christmas card with a rare photo Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, will also not shy away from returning the favour during the festive time, according to a former royal aide.

“I believe that Catherine will reach out to Harry and Meghan and wish them a Happy Christmas and I think Harry and Meghan themselves will possibly reach out, King Charles’ former butler, Grant Harrold, told GB News.

The news comes after an insider revealed that Prince Harry has an “open line” to his sister-in-law, who has been making efforts to bring Prince William together with his estranged brother.

“The thing about Christmas is that it’s all about goodwill to others, letting bygones be bygones, forgetting the past, moving into the new Year,” Harrold suggested, adding that Christmas is the best opportunity to make contact

“There's something magical about Christmas that gets families back together, he continued. “I’d like to think that they will all be communicating, whether that is done by text calls or FaceTime – I’d like to think FaceTime, but that's something we will never know.”

While the former aide shared things may be moving in the “right direction”, Prince Harry and Meghan did not receive an invite for the annual gathering at Sandringham.

However, a palace source previously shared that King Charles “stopped inviting them to things because they consistently turned the invitations down for years”.

It remains to be seen if the Sussexes and the royal family will be warming up to one another following their years-long rift.
