During the candid conversation, the influential figure heaped praise on the future King's 'fantastic' work as an active member of the royal family.

Now, the source revealed to Closer magazine that William's 'shocking' step "triggered a storm of emotions" for the former working royals as they are not on good terms with Trump.

An insider stated, "This cuts deep on so many levels and feels like an appalling betrayal for Harry and Meghan. Prince William appeared to get along with Trump very well."

"Of course William was fulfilling a professional role but Trump has been so vicious towards them and of course William is aware of that, so Meghan and Harry can’t help but think he could have discussed it with them first," the report shared.

However, the tipster claimed that Harry and Meghan feel very "hurt and betrayed" as William paying no heed to their reconciliation efforts.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are "angry and genuinely quite shocked because, for all their issues with William, they still believed his politics and beliefs were more in line with theirs."
