Drake made his look-alike competition more exciting by gifting $10,000 to the winner.
On Saturday, December 14, Casuals Cakery hosted a Drake look-alike contest in the five-time Grammy Award winner’s hometown.
The God’s Plan rapper learned about the competition and slipped a thrilling surprise into the bakery’s inbox: a $10,000 winning prize.
The bakery shared the screenshot of the Instagram message on its account's stories, which said that the Canadian singer would donate "10 bands" towards "the main prize."
"Yes, this is true and real & I hope the Drake doppelgängers ready [fire emoji] LETSSSSSSSS GOOOOOOO," they wrote in the caption.
A large number of fans showed up at the latest look-alike event, channelling Girl Drake, Ozempix Drake, Durag Drake, and Durag Drake. Makayla Chambers took home the grand prize.
The "Girl Drake" styled her locks in two pigtails—similar to Drake’s look from earlier this year—along with a fake goatee, an oversized sweater paired with black pants.
Though Drake, 38, did not surprised fans with his appearance at the contest, he reposted several videos from the event on his Intagram Story, writing, "I love this city" with a series of laughing emojis.
Notably, the celebrity look-alike fever has risen since the Timothee Chaamet look-alike competition in New York City was held in October.
