Madonna, who is known as the Queen of Pop, has sparked outrage after she posted a carousel of new photos on her social media handle.
Taking to Instagram story, the 66-year-old shared AI-generated images of herself and Pope Francis getting close.
The first image featured the pope with a broad smile and his nose touching the Frozen vocalist’s cheek.
She captioned the shocking image, "Going into the weekend like.”
The second photo showed Madonna in a lacy corset, as Pope Francis appeared to lean in for a kiss while wrapping one arm around her waist.
“Feels Good to Be Seen, Like a Virgin,” the Grammy award winner wrote beneath the second snap.
Social media users poured in their reactions slaming Madonna over the images.
One user went on writing: "Ridiculously disrespectful."
Another person wrote via X that the "Vogue” singer’s post was “creepy," while a third unamused individual said, "This is just weird as hell… she’s lost it."
"Disgusting! I pray her soul gets saved!” another comment read.
On the work front, Madonna rose to fame after her 1983 eponymous debut studio album, along with her hit and bestsellers albums: Like a Virgin, True Blue and The Immaculate Collection.
