BTS ARMY can’t stop raving over V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, as he dethroned Mariah Carey after 40 years.
Forbes recently reported that the K-pop idol pushed down Carey’s festive classic All I Want From Christmas Is You from the Billboard chart for Christmas songs with Winter Ahead, his jazz-pop duet with Park Hyo Shin.
BTS fans quickly rallied to X, formerly Twitter, to boast about the BTS star’s biggest achievement while expressing excitement.
"DO YOU REALIZE HOW HUGE IT IS!?!? SO PROUD OF HIM. CONGRATULATIONS V. CONGRATULATIONS TAEHYUNG. HISTORY MAKER TAEHYUNG," one fan exclaimed.
"What did we say… Move over Mariah, the King of Christmas is here…" another claimed.
"Flop this flop that my man here replaces THEE Mariah Carey," a third fan celebrated.
Meanwhile, a fourth fan chimed in, saying, "This is insane only possible by BTS members to replace the reigning queen of Christmas songs!!"
This feat marked a major milestone in his solo career as the 28-year-old South Korean singer became the first soloist to beat out the famous Queen of Christmas, who made history by being the first artist to have her festive song dominate the Billboard chart for four decades since its release.
Winter Ahead has been making waves since V released its teaser video before dropping the song on November 29.
