Sarah Michelle Gellar has recently opened up about the reboot of hit show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the Never Been Kissed actress asked if she had thought about returning to the supernatural role that made her one of the biggest stars on television from 1997 to 2003.
“It’s funny, I always used to say no, because it’s in its bubble and it’s so perfect,” replied Sarah.
However, the Scooby Doo actress said, “Watching Sex and the City and seeing Dexter, and realising there are ways to do it, definitely does get your mind thinking, ‘Well, maybe.’”
When co-star Christian Slater suggested a reboot wouldn’t necessarily have to be a prequel, Sarah pointed out, “No, it could be anything.”
“It’s a universe. And it makes you realise that in this world, we need those heroes, I think, more so than ever,” added the Scream 2 star.
Earlier in an interview with PEOPLE, Sarah revealed she won’t return for the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot.
The actress mentioned her character is “dead” in the original 1997 movie.
“My best friend [Jennifer Kaytin Robinson] is directing it, so we joke that I have an unofficial job, which is I am continuity,” she remarked.
Meanwhile, Sarah next be seen in the Dexter prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin. She also starred in Wolf Pack in 2023.
