Pete Davidson has learned an important lesson from Leonardo DiCaprio: "Less is more."
The Saturday Night Live alum opened up to W Magazine about the adversity of taking up each opportunity to appear on screen, given his thirst for appearing on screen when he first entered the industry.
"In The Sopranos, there’s this line from Tony that’s like, 'You ever feel like you got into something at the end? When the good times were over?'" he explained. "That’s how I feel about show business and being a celebrity. It’s over."
Upon realising a key factor after looking up to the Titanic star and Christian Bale’s illustrious career, the comedian-actor admitted, "I made the mistake of doing literally everything."
"Now I’m older and wiser, and I’m realising that less is more", he continued. "Like Christian Bale. he does one movie every two-three years, but you go fucking see it. Leo[nardo di captio] does one movie every four years."
"But it’s the biggest thing in the world. It’s because you miss them. People have to miss you," he concluded.
Davidson, 31, began his career in the early 2010s with minor guest roles on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Friends of the People, Guy Code, and Wild 'n Out.
He was then hired as an SNL cast member, where he starred for eight seasons from 2014 to 2022.
