Barbie starring Margot Robbie that out turned out a big hit in 2023 might get a sequel.
According to the reports, the second entry of the chartbuster fantasy comedy flick in in the 'early stages of development'. However, the first film didn’t end in a way suggesting any further sequels.
There is no official confirmation about the news circulating on the internet.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Warner Bros. is interested in pursuing a sequel with Barbie’s screenwriters Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach.’
An outlet named THR has reported that the writer duo has approached the production company with a plot for the second film.
Meanwhile, there is another source having ‘direct knowledge’ that the new story line pitched by the authors have pushed the 'WB' to move forward with the idea.
However, the representatives of Greta and Noah has dashed down all the reports including the hearsay spread by THR.
Barbie released in 2023 featuring Margot alongside Ryan Gosling, Emma Mackey, and Will Ferrell.
Distributed by the Warner Bros. the film earned around $ 1.44 billion at the box office. It even won a 'Golden Globe Award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement'.
