Disney's Tangled is set to join the growing list of animated classics reimagined as live-action films.
According to a recent report by Deadline, the Oscar-nominated film is in talks to be renewed by The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey from a script penned by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
Though plot details have been kept under wraps, the film is expected to follow the same path as the animated version.
The movie, released in 2010 by Disney Studios, is a modern retelling of Rapunzel, the long-haired princess initially written by the Brothers Grimm in 1812.
The stars that voiced the iconic characters include Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider.
During the 10th anniversary of Tangled, Moore, 40, shed light on her experience of making the critically acclaimed movie.
"It was such an immense pleasure and joy," the singer and actress recalled. "Like Zach has said many times, a bucket-list opportunity and experience, and one I'll never forget."
The This Is Us alum further expressed her "endless gratitude" for the love and support the film’s fans have shown her.
"Thank you for believing in the film then, for continuing to believe in it now. For sharing it, for being enthusiastic about it," Moore said.
It is pertinent to note that Tangled is the latest addition to the list of animated turned live-action films.
Disney has previously released live versions of Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast, Cinderella, The Lion King and many other hit films.
Meanwhile, the new film on the horizon includes Snow White, set to release in 2025, and Moana, slated to hit the theatres in 2026.
