‘HIMYM’s Cobie Smulders and Jason Segel reunite on ‘Shrinking’ set

Cobie Smulders reunited with Jason Segel on his new hit show, Shrinking.

On December 11th’s episode, the 42-year-old guest starred as Sofi, who met Jimmy while searching for a car to gift to his daughter and connected over their marital struggles. 

In an exclusive conversation with US Weekly, Smulders revealed that it didn’t feel awkward to play his romantic partner on screen. In fact, she is looking forward to seeing how the How I Met Your Mother fans react.

"It’ll be interesting to hear if people have opinions about that," she shared. 

After working with the 44-year-old actor for nine seasons on the hit sitcom, the Canadian actress acknowledged and understood why some fans might have difficulty separating them from their past roles.

However, the two found it quite easy to transition into their new roles opposite each other.

She continued to explain that they have grown up together and have spent many years working alongside each other, which is why neither of them felt weird about the scenario they were put in. 

"I think it came quite naturally to us," the actress added.

The show, which debuted in 2023, stars Segel as a therapist, Jimmy Laird, who copes with his wife’s passing by becoming deeply involved in his patients’ lives.
