Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped their new Netflix docuseries, POLO, which focuses on the world of the equestrian sport, shares some hidden details about the Sussexes.
The five-episode documentary series follows some of the world’s greatest polo players, including Harry’s close pal, Nachos Figueras, treated fans to quite a surprise.
During the final episode, the Duchess of Sussex interacts with Argentinian polo player Adolfo Cambiaso on the sidelines of the 2024 U.S. Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida.
Prince Harry introduces Meghan to the legendary player and revealed that she is “fluent in Spanish”. She the confidently flexes her Spanish skills when Cambiaso asks “really?”.
“I lived there about 20 years ago. In Palermo Viejo. Las Canitas too,” Meghan said, per the translation.
It’s understood that Meghan learned Spanish when she was attending college at Northwestern University in Madrid, Spain, and her internship at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
“That’s great. That’s where the polo fields were,” Cambiaso remarked and Meghan said that she loves “the 25th of May”, which is Argentina's national day.
Cambiaso then turned to address Harry, and asked him “Do you speak Spanish?” Meghan joked with a “yes”.
“He knows I don't!” Harry exclaimed, before countering, “Well, yes. A little, a little.”
Meghan previously exhibited her Spanish while she was visiting a primary school, during their Colombian visit in May.
