Keanu Reeves proudly launched his new novel, The Book of Elsewhere, at a Waterstones event in London on Monday evening.
The 60-year-old John Wick star looked at ease as he signed copies of his book, which he co-wrote with renowned British author China Miéville.
Following his 2021 comic book venture BRZRKR, the actor has ventured further into the literary world, revisiting and expanding upon storylines and characters originally from the comic series.
At the signing event, Keanu kept his style casual in a dark blue denim jacket, jeans, and beige suede boots.
While he played a hands-on role in the process, the actor has openly credited Miéville as the true driving force behind the novel's adaptation.
Speaking openly, the 60-year-old actor explained, "I didn't want to write the book. I wanted another creator to take that journey.
So, ultimately, China [Miéville] has written the novel." He made it clear that while the story is based on his original BRZRKR comic, the book adaptation is very much Miéville’s work.
Keanu’s comments come after an awkward moment on BBC’s The One Show earlier this year, where the actor seemed uncomfortable when asked about a potential romance with Speed costar Sandra Bullock.
While Reeves sweetly acknowledged their reunion, host Gabby Logan pressed further, suggesting a missed opportunity for romance between the two.
The actor, who is currently dating artist Alexandra Grant, deftly handled the question, but many fans felt the line of questioning was unprofessional and uncomfortable.
Despite the interview hiccup, he remains focused on his creative projects, including his upcoming roles in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Ballerina, as well as the release of his new novel.
