Bollywood sensation Rekha, who has been the subject of media controversy for her former relationship with Amitabh Bachchan, has made a rare comment on Big B.
The 70-year-old marked her appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show and conversed about her experience working in the industry.
Agar Tum Na Hote star reminisced shooting the 1979 film Suhaag, after a fan questioned her: “In the movie Suhaag, you played dandiya so well. Even though you are a South Indian, you played the Gujarati dandiya so well. It didn’t feel like you were not a Gujarati. How did you manage it?”
The actress went on mentioning and praising Amitabh, as she replied: “Ye sochiye ke jinke saath main Dhandiya khel rahi thi, wo kya shaks hai. Acha nahi khelungi toh kya karungi?"
"(Think about this, the personality of the person I was performing dandiya with. I obviously had to do a good job).”
Dandiya aati ya na aati ho, saamna aise aadmi-shaqs aa jaata hai toh khud hi har angh angh theerakhne lagta hai. (Even I didn’t know how to play dandiya, when he stood in front of me, I would just start dancing),” she added.
Rekha also subtly asserted that she is a passionate devotee of the 82-year-old's enduring quiz program, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
On the work front, Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan hit the big screens together on several iconic movies, including Do Anjaane, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Mr. Natwarlal, and Alaap.
