Ananya Panday opens up about the pay disparity between male and female actors.
During an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the Call Me Bae star noted that the film industry has made significant progress with time.
Reflecting on her early days in Bollywood, the actress, who rose to fame with her groundbreaking role in Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan, observed that the industry has undergone a significant change, with many more women now working in lead roles.
Ananya said she was shocked by the lack of pay parity between actors in the past, revealing her thoughts on male actors receiving special treatment based on gender alone.
She highlighted that it was crucial to vouch for actors that have been delivering spectacular performances in projects and not just on the basis of gender.
She told the outlet, "If a man is getting a better car than me just because he is a man, then it is wrong."
The actress is currently occupied with various upcoming projects, including Call Me Bae Season 2, as well as Dharma Productions' Chand Mera Dil alongside Lakshya.
